Digital technology, including AI, is a fact in the daily lives of English language teaching professionals. And it is also a fact that there is a back to basics movement in the ELT community when it comes to choosing whether to teach and assess with or without digital technologies. 

Bearing these two different viewpoints in mind, what does the future hold when it comes to language assessment? How should we consider, and balance, the human element and the technology element in the formative and summative classroom-based assessments that are part of our daily routines as ELT professionals? 

In this face to face event jointly organized by BRAZ-TESOL's Center-West Chapter and Assessment SIG, teachers are invited to reflect about these viewpoints in practical terms, and think about what outcomes they can give us. This in-person event will take place on Saturday, March 22nd, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Colégio Mackenzie, in Brasilia-DF.
