About the authors/ panelists:

 

Jonathan Olsberg is a film industry veteran who, as Executive Chair of Olsberg•SPI, heads one of the world’s leading specialist consultancies that advise private and public sector global clients on strategies for successful growth. He has also been a producer and distributor of film and TV content. His first career was in finance on Wall Street and in the City of London for the British merchant bank, Hill Samuel.


Alexander Cuntz heads the Creative Economy Section at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Before joining WIPO, he worked as a senior policy advisor at the Berlin-based Federal Expert Commission for Research and Innovation and as a research consultant at the European Commission. Mr. Cuntz’s economic research focuses on the economic role of copyright and the impact of digitization. Mr. Cuntz holds a PhD in innovation economics.


Silvia Echeverri is Director of the Colombian Film Commission since 2008, and board member of the Association of Film Commissioners International in Los Angeles, as well as a board member of the Latin American Film Commission Network. She is an economist from the Universidad de los Andes and a Master in Economic Law from the Universidad Javeriana. Mrs. Echeverri led the process for the approval of Law 1556 in the Colombian Congress, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.


Giancarlo Nasi is a film producer with ten feature films, which have been presented and awarded at the main film festivals in the world , including Cannes, Venice and Berlin. He is the founder and current president of the Chilean Film Academy and vice president of the Iberoamerican Federation of Cinematographic Academies of Arts and Sciences (FIACINE).
