This session will showcase several improvements in SQL Server, focusing on the latest and upcoming query performance diagnostics and query processing enhancements that address some of the most common customer pain points.
Ranging from new xEvents and Showplan improvements to new tools that ease you into troubleshooting processes, learn how you can leverage faster insights and become the hero of the day!
Bio:
Pedro Lopes is a Senior Program Manager in the Database Systems Group, based in Redmond, WA, USA. He over 16 years of industry experience.
He is currently responsible for Program Management of database engine features for in-market and vNext versions of SQL Server, with a special focus on the Relational Engine (Query Processor, Query Performance, Programmability).
He also works closely with several Tier 1 SQL Server customers and ISVs, as well as partners in the field, to understand and gather information about product usage and feedback to drive improvements into the product.
He blogs about all things SQL at http://aka.ms/sqlserverteam, authored AdaptiveIndexDefrag (http://aka.ms/AID), and publishes the BPCheck script for SQL Best Practices and Performance checks (http://aka.ms/BPCheck).
He is also a regular speaker at TechReady, Ignite, SQL PASS Summit, SQL Saturday’s, SQLIntersection, SQLBits, 24H of PASS, and local user group events.
